What is the General IELTS?

What is IELTS Academic?

IELTS academic exam is taken in cases of:
- Study at an undergraduate or postgraduate level in different countries globally.
- Work professionally in an English-speaking country.
- Apply for a student route visa (Tier 4) at a university that is a student route (Tier 4) sponsor in the UK.
There are 2 tasks in IELTS academic test:
- Task 1 (writing) -in this task there is information that is based on a graphic (pie graph, bar, or line) or image composition. The candidate based on this has to write a descriptive report of at least 150 words with factual information and compare data and trends.
- Task 2 (writing) – in this task the candidate has to write at least 250 words of essay which is descriptive on a given topic. In this, the examinees are required to put strong points that strengthen their argument.
How much time does it take to prepare for the IELTS exam?
Students need to start their IELTS preparation at least 3-6 months prior to the exam date. One needs to prepare for each section of the exam by giving enough time. There is a stricter time limit in this exam therefore it is important to prepare under the best conditions. One has to know what exam they are willing to give and based on it one must see the syllabus carefully.
Here are a few pointers on how to prepare for the IELTS exam:
- Know your syllabus 360-degree.
- Start with writing and reading practices.
