From September 2021, International students who have completed their undergraduate degree or master’s degree can stay up to 2 years. The new graduate route in the UK allows certain rules and regulations to run for international students. Students who have completed their Ph.D. are allowed to stay up to 3 years. Earlier there was no stay back option for international students without an employment offer after completing graduation from the UK university.

- There is no provision of dependents in this type of visa.
- The age for this visa should be 18-30 years and need 1890 GBP to apply for it.
- Students should have proof of funds of at least £945 for a Tier 1 UK work visa.
- Students require sponsorship from the UK university.

3. Tier 5 Visa in the UK for Temporary Workers
- This visa allows individuals to stay in the UK for 12-24 months.
- This visa allows you to take up internships and jobs in order to work in the UK.
4. Tier 4 Visa in the UK for Doctorate Extension Scheme
- This visa is for students who have completed their Ph.D.
- There is a sponsorship requirement from the universities.
- The maximum duration to stay in the country is up to 1 year.
- Dependents are allowed on this type of visa.
Who is Eligible for a UK Post-Study Work Visa?
International students having a Tier-4 visa and studying from a University which is located in the UK after September 2020 are eligible to stay in the country. This rule is applicable for students who are enrolled in graduation, Masters, and PhD programs. International students are allowed to do any work while studying under this visa.
Those who want to stay longer in the UK after the expiration of their visa must apply for a skilled work visa or general work visa (Tier 2 visa). There is a condition for applying for a general work visa in which the candidate must get at least £30,000 per year. For some jobs, this can be higher or lower.
