- GMAT Study Plan is the Priority
You don’t want to juggle all of these while also studying for the GMAT on a condensed timeline. MBA and business master’s applications require a variety of components such as essays, letters of recommendation, resumes, and more.
Establish a GMAT study plan early in your journey to business school to avoid this situation. How about the fact that you can prepare for the GMAT exam in just eight weeks? Get the goals, tools, and tips you need to work toward your business school goals with the free GMAT 8-Week Study Planner from the makers of the GMAT.
2. Start Choosing your GMAT Prep Material
There is no shortage of test prep resources available, but choose carefully because not all of these are created equal.
We recommend using GMAT Official preparation materials to prepare for the test (and simulate the actual experience). Due to the fact that they are made by the makers of the GMAT, they use the same scoring algorithms and contain real GMAT questions.
Are you unsure which Official GMAT Prep resource to use? We’ll match you with your customized GMAT prep plan!
3. Observe your weaknesses and work on them
The most important part of your preparation strategy is figuring out which skills require the most attention. To determine your capabilities and pinpoint your weak areas, we recommend using the GMAT Official Guide Series. Create a tailored study plan based on your results in order to brush up on the areas where your skills need to be strengthened.
Taking the GMAT and scoring a 700 is not always realistic. Find out what your expected score range is by taking the GMAT Mini Quiz.
4. Process of elimination on the GMAT exam work always
Don’t waste valuable time on questions you don’t know the answer to. You can get closer to the correct answer by excluding the wrong answers. Then choose the answer that is closest to the correct answer.
Prepare a “guessing strategy” in advance, so you won’t lose unnecessary GMAT points.
5. Finish all the Verbal and Quantitative questions
Make sure to finish both the verbal and quantitative sections on the actual GMAT; failing either will result in significant penalties. Making all the answers might mean making some guesses at the end. Since you should prepare for your test as if it were a real one, make sure to practice finishing your answers as well. GMAT scores are calculated based on three factors: number of questions answered, number of questions answered correctly, and difficulty of questions answered correctly.
