The Technical University of Munich; 

TUM ranks among Europe’s most outstanding universities in research and innovation – an achievement powered by its distinctive character as the Entrepreneurial University. 178 degree programs covering engineering and natural sciences, life sciences and medicine, management and social sciences are offered, As announced in July 2019, TUM has secured the title “University of Excellence” for the third time in succession. This makes it the only technical university in Germany to have held the title consecutively since 2006. There are no tuition fees at TUM – students only need to pay the semester fees consisting of a Student Union Fee and a basic Semesterticket for the public transportation network, which is 144.40 Euro for students in Munich, Garching and Weihenstephan, 62.00 Euro for students in Straubing, 92.00 Euro for students in Heilbronn.

Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München

Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München is a leading research university in Europe. Since its founding in 1472 it has been committed to the highest international standards of excellence in research and teaching. Studying at LMU itself is free. There is no tuition.

There is a small fee for the “Studentenwerk” of around 60€/Semester. That includes a basic ticket for public transportation at evening/night during the week and on weekends allday. For an additional 140€/Semester, you can extend it to 24/7, however living in Munich can be a little expensive.

Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg

A fee of 171.80 euros is charged for studying at the University of Heidelberg (special tuition fees are charged for continuing education and existing non-consecutive Master’s programs). The amount is due at the beginning of each semester upon re-registration or must be paid as part of matriculation.
